New Year’s Resolutions

#1: Post here more frequently–’nough said

#2: Buy a little journal and write down title/author of every book I read in 2008. I have never done this before, and I wonder how many books I get to a year. If you are in junior high–try it for yourself.  If you do it every year, you can look back when you’re old like me and see how much you have enlightened your mind with good books each year…Wish I would have thought of this about 25 years ago…

Teen Read Week – LOL

But Teen Read Week is an awesome reason to write. Here’s what we’re doing at CJHS to celebrate the theme LOL–Laughing Out Loud!

  • Loads of funny books on display 
  • Old-school Looney Toons playing on the SMARTBoard in the am
  • Second annual TRW coloring contest–yes, Ben and Jerry’s during Friday’s lunch to two winners from each grade again
  • Hunger is No Laughing Matter Food Drive Challenge! What could be better than helping the hungry, getting a chance to win an iPod, and crushing KJHS and PJHS? Hard to think of anything…

What I did on my summer vacation by Mrs. Glatt

Saw this movie in IMAX when I was visiting my family in Phoenix, AZ.

Finished this book on Monday, July 23 at 2:30 a.m. It was worth the wait.

Attended the Borders Harry Potter #7 release party and was crowned QUEEN of the costume contest.  And I won a $10 gift card! Here I am as Professor Trelawney. I am with Luna Lovegood as played by She-Who-Prefers-Not-To-Be-Named. We saw many friends there and had an excellent time.

This is an awesome new way to listen to an audiobook–no equipment required. Plus, it’s the size of an iPod and you can use your own headphones or buy them from me (to keep) for jut 50 cents. So far we have about 15, but I wrote a grant to get more–cross your fingers!
